Peeps Artist Statement
The peeps 3D project was very fun. I was able to collaborate with my classmates and come up with fun ideas for the project. We decided to make a prison escape scene. We made a holding cell out of a cup holder and on top of that was a watch tower made from a slurpee cup and a cap of a slurpee cup. We put a peep at the top of the watch tower to represent a watch guard.
Community Project
The purpose of this project was to construct a house/community from recycled objects. Me and my group tried making a treehouse at first, but because of limited resources, we had to change our idea. We decided to construct a factory. This relates to a community because a community involves people who interact with each other to come together and become friends. In a factory, workers have to work together in order to get work done and this helps build chemistry between each other making it a community. When doing the project, we chose to make the entrance the color pink. This is because the definition of the color pink is "sweetness, nice, and playful", which in a community is important for a good community. For the main work facility of the factory, we painted it light blue. Light blue symbolizes "trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, and faith". This is also important in a community because without it things would become chaos and destruction. On top of the main working facility of the factory, we made the pipe brown. We made it brown because brown symbolizes healing, comfort, and stability, which is very important within a community. Separating the two main buildings, is a tunnel. The tunnel is painted grey. We painted it grey because grey symbolizes depression, and hurt. We thought this was important because in a community there will always be hard times but there will be people who will comfort you and help you go through it. When looking at our project, you would just see a factory with a bunch of different colors. But the colors mean a lot more than you think. I really enjoyed working on this project.
